A nice afternoon in which to live.

+ I imagine that this is the sort of day that the heroine of a story is enjoying. She walks around the soft green grass near the family home, listens to the birds singing in the trees and breathes in the wonderful smelling air. And has a hard time believing that grief and evil things could possibly be happening in her world.

Crap

+ Thinking of spending money on a rename token for lj. I find I enjoy the communities I've spent time in, less and less.

Thirteen hours!

I, like most of the known universe, will be disposed of until I complete reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince this weekend. Between working long and early days unfortunately. They should know that I'll be up til three or four in the morning reading!

Censorship

+ When I'm upset, I delete entries from my livejournal at a rapid pace.

Just (don't) be yourself

+ As I had suspected, it really wasn't anything unusual that I did to earn the shock of my aunt and dismay of my grandmother. Aside from "brooding", which I did privately with my copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It was my anti-social behaviour (after being delighted to go to begin with, well I can't help it, it turned into a family bonanza that I wasn't counting on) and oh, let's not forget that I asked why my cousin was being a snobby bitch (I wasn't being meanspirited, it was honesty). And I used a phrase like "useless like tits on a bull". So basically aunt was shocked and wished I were more "ladylike". How long have you people know me?! You know I'm well mannered enough, I'm not ladylike and a thumb tack has more tact than I do. I give up. You can't choose your relatives, just your friends.

+ I don't do well with deadlines. I shut down and decide I'd rather play video games. And write in my blog.

Forever the asshats

+ Forever the asshats will come and spoil the fun. Really. New York, Bali, Madrid, London. Sure, we haven't been fair to them in the past, but this on going crusade to take the world for Allah or whatever doesn't seem to be appealing to most Westerners. Christ, you extremists, get a television, DirectTv (TiVo even!) into that cave of yours and zombify like the rest of us.

+ People, (family in this instance) when given the choice between standing up and calling you out on something they find disagreeable. Or saying nothing and then it filtering it through a second hand and mutual source (also family). They will always choose the latter. The result of this equation? Anger divided by frustration equals loss of respect.
